TecMinho and In.Cubo have signed a collaboration agreement, in Arcos de Valdevez, which foresees the use of FabLab Alto Minho by entrepreneurs from the University of Minho.
The agreement signed by Fernando Alexandre, President of TecMinho, and by João Manuel Esteves, President of In.Cubo, establishes that university entrepreneurs supported under entrepreneurship programmes promoted by TecMinho, including researchers, fellows, students and recent university graduates, have at their disposal the facilities and equipment of the Laboratório de Fabricação Digital (FabLab) of Alto Minho for the launching of new products, projects and technology-based companies.
Thus, the entrepreneurs supported by TecMinho can use the FabLab whenever they need access to digital production equipment and quick prototyping tools to develop prototypes or products in small series.
Established in 2014 by In.Cubo, the purpose of FabLab Alto Minho is to provide higher education institutions and companies in the region with access to quick prototyping equipment that allows the development and testing of initial models before they are marketed as new products. FabLab offers an opportunity to materialise ideas, concepts and prototypes for both individuals and companies, making it possible to create, within a few hours, solid 3D objects made of plastic, wood or metal from computer designs.
