IdeaLab: 15 Business Ideas and 43 promoters 2017-04-06
The 17th edition of IdeaLab has kicked-off! The Business Idea Laboratory will be supporting, throughout the next 4 months, 15 innovative business ideas proposed by 43 promoters in the fields of Social Sciences, Computer Sciences, Design, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Physics and Information Systems.

The opening session of IdeaLab – Business Idea Laboratory took place at Campus de Azurém of the University of Minho, where the most innovative participating business ideas were presented, which were proposed by 43 promoters in the fields of Social Sciences, Computer Sciences, Design, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Physics and Information Systems.
 
Initially, 20 business ideas were pre-selected from the applications submitted, who were invited to participate in an ideation session, on the 23rd and 24th of March, in Guimarães. The goal was to work on creativity and validate the business idea presented.
 
From these 20 business ideas, 15 were selected to participate in the new instalment of IdeaLab, which will take place until July 2017. The objective is for the teams to receive the support of specialised tutors and mentors who will test the development potential of their business ideas by previously elaborating a business plan.
 
Apart from the acquisition of entrepreneurial attitudes and competencies much valued in the labour market, each team will also have available to them, throughout a period of 5 months, individual mentoring and follow-up by the specialised professionals. 
 
The first workshop, with the motto “Voice of the Customer”, marks the start of this edition, letting be known the real needs of the customer, with the aim of identifying the differential processes and innovation that a business idea implies. This is an essential phase to gain competencies in the development of businesses.
 
IdeaLab is co-financed by Norte 2020 in the scope of the Restartup project.
