Following the ongoing work of developing distance learning courses at the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML) and professionals from its 18 municipalities, the TecMinho e-learning Centre is creating the "MOOC AML - Massive Open Online Courses", intended for residents and employees of this regional territory.
The project brings together professionals from the different municipalities to define an appropriate strategy and develop a program of workshops that bring together the knowledge and experience of several institutions of higher education in MOOCs with the skills of the professionals of the municipalities of AML.
The generation of ideas and the development of an innovative project is the main result that is intended to achieve with the AML MOOC project, which has already held two workshops involving the University of Minho, University of Porto, Instituto Politécnico do Porto, Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, Open University and Instituto Superior Técnico, involving about 30 professionals and training specialists from the participating municipalities.
The next workshop in this project will take place in July 2016, and will be with specialists in the construction of online educational content. In September, the last workshop is held, involving the Cognitive company, specialized in the installation and development of the EdX platform, an open access platform that can be a demonstrator of the AML MOOC project.
Since 2006, the TecMinho e-Learning Centre is the partner entity of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML) in promoting innovative learning processes in Local Public Administration, namely through the creation of knowledge and critical mass in the area of e-learning . This partnership included the promotion of workshops and training actions in e-learning for employees of the 18 municipalities integrated in AML.
