TecMinho / University of Minho are part of the working group promoted by the Association of Communications and Telecommunications Regulators (ARCTEL) for the establishment of a Training Centre for the Sector of Communications in the countries included in the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) .
Recognition of the need for a training project of the Portuguese-speaking community in this sector led to the creation of ARCTEL Training Centre (CFA), composed by reference entities that guarantee a wide training offer with recognized quality scientific.

Apart from TecMinho / University of Minho, this partnership integrates the following institutions: UNAVE / University of Aveiro, University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE- IUL), Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL), Welding and Quality Institute (ISQ) , VdAcademia, and Ericsson.

The training offer of the CFA currently includes 55 courses that, although sectorwide, seek to meet the responsibilities and functions of the various employees who are part of organizations of the CPLP countries, namely direction, technical staff and operational frameworks. TecMinho / University of Minho are responsible for implementation of 22 of these courses within the partnetship.
