TecMinho was the entity chosen by the Luxembourg Government Development Agency (LUX-DEV) to develop two distance learning projects in Cape Verde.
In the project "Diagnóstico prospetivo e plano de intervenção nas Escolas técnicas e nos Centros de Emprego e Formação Profissional para a instalação de uma plataforma de formação à distância", TecMinho, together with the University of Cape Verde, is developing a diagnostic work for the implementation of distance learning in the Training Centers and Technical Schools of Cape Verde. In this diagnostic work, studies are being developed on the state of the art in terms of distance learning, analyzing existing experiences, the type of internet access, the devices and conditions in each school or training center and which platforms and trainings it is necessary to implement for the full development of this type of teaching.
It is important to remember that the Government of the Republic of Cape Verde approved, in the Council of Ministers of September 2020, the regulatory decree establishing the legal regime of the methodology of distance vocational training, supported by information and communication technologies and based on a virtual learning environment. The diploma establishes "the principles of action and guiding standards related to the pedagogical model, but also the specific accreditation requirements of the training entities, the procedures for monitoring, monitoring and evaluation of the training process".
As Cape Verde is an insular country, territorial discontinuity causes isolation, depriving citizens of many basic services and rights for their individual and social development, so Distance Learning is extremely important for the development of the country, and in particular of vocational training. Moreover, currently, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the need to implement the distance vocational training methodology is of extraordinary importance.
In the project "Programa de formação contínua de urgência para o setor da Hotelaria e Turismo em modalidade e-learning", TecMinho, together with the Higher School of Hospitality and Tourism of the Polytechnic of Porto, is developing a set of 5 online training courses for the Tourism sector.
The online courses will directly benefit the teachers of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Cape Verde (EHTCV), and are being designed for the final beneficiaries who are active workers of the Tourism sector or students of EHTCV.
During the project, courses and digital educational support content will be designed, trainers will be trained and the follow-up will be carried out to the final beneficiaries. In the development phase of the project, the e-learning platform of TecMinho will be used, and later the courses will be transferred to the EHTCV e-learning Platform. |
