The TexMatrix European project's team met in Guimarães to analyze the main results of the benchmarking study on innovation in the textile sector, carried out with 60 companies from Portugal, Slovenia, Italy and Romania.

The benchmarking study was based on the textile knowledge innovation matrix developed by the TexMatrix project and took into account innovation analysis criteria, such as innovation strategy and culture, resources, portfolio of innovation projects, industrial property rights, innovation planning and results, knowledge and idea management, etc.

Based on results obtained from companies, the development of a guide to innovative solutions for the textile sector with transferable results is now under way, and will also lead to the creation of a distance training course on innovation in the textile sector, to be implemented in 2018.
